Ajay App: SharedView version: 8.0.5725.0 Browser: IE 8 Summary: Unable to join a session if the user is blocked and unblocked later. Steps: 1. Share a screen with a user. 2. Eject the user and add him to blocked list [Options > Blocklist] 3. Unblock the user and share the screen. Observed Behavior: The user cannot join the session even if the user is unblocked. As the user was unblocked, I expected that the user would be able to join the session. Anna My name is Anna Baik, and along with Markus Gärtner I'm one of the co-founders of the Europe chapter of the Weekend Testers. I've been a tester for about 5 years now, and I live in Wiltshire, in the UK, close to the city of Bath. I blog occasionally at the Software Testing Club - http://www.softwaretestingclub.com/profiles/blog/list?user=1qyjeckcl3cxl and here's my twitter a/c: http://twitter.com/TesterAB Ok, test. Ok, when I'm trying to test losing connection, my connection is fine. Bah! Now test - reestablishing connection. Connecting Ok, so I can edit while connecting, or while "establishing connection" (what's the diff?), but not while disconnected. Comments on DimDIm: I wasn't able to see the screenshare at any point, I think my network connection wasn't good enough. Although strangely, I could hear Jon talking - sometimes a bit garbled, but I would have thought audio would require more bandwidth? I'm not using my own machine at the moment so monitoring network usage was difficult for me. I could see a message telling me to click in the top left to share my screen, but I never saw any button. Markus black-belt in the Miagi-Do school, co-founder EWT with Anna, Software Craftsman, blog: http://blog.shino.de DimDim is very fine with me. Explored the available options and functionalities. The connection seems to get slower when I make the picture larger. Actual Size works fine. There is some weird number in the top left corner shown when I move my mouse there. On the whiteboard, hover text shows "Draw a", "Add a text". These look suspicious. DimDim seems to be handy, especially the handover to other participants is fine. Alan -- a student at PowerupGames Aire - a tester from Estonia SharedView - I clicked on Jon's first link for sharing, had to download client after that, after install it promised to join me with session when i click "join" button, it didn't, started do download again for some reason, had to join throuth client I have SharedView installed no, but every time I click on link for SharedView session it says that i need to install client and FF crashes when I click "Join" button Installing SharedView froze my computer several times I undocked the chat, clicked on screensharing area and can't maximize chat anymore, right-click restores it - not what I expected No buttons in upper bar for controlling sessions Different tabs for everyting in screenview but no indication what is what Jon -- Manager for Corporate Intellect at Quardev, an outsource test lab in Seattle, Washington, USA. And going to organize next community meeting as a live testing session DimDim Screen 1024x600 Chrome - Can't invoke menu I used to have transparent menu dropping down from above the shared screen but after some time I can't invoke it - One option: one name, two behaviors There's option Full Screen above the shared zone and another option in expanding menu: they are called equally but work differently - Dialog disappearing When I clicked on Full screen on expanding menu it showed popup for me to click Ok-Cancel but it disappeared before I decided what to click - Marks on slide remain Jon was a presenter and was showing slides. If I understoon him right then drawing that I was doing on one slide kept showing on other slides - think it's incorrect for the case I waned to mark some text on the slide me: I draw on slide #1, you switch to slide #2 me: does drawing remain? Jon Bach: yep - Small controll for list of participants Participants>Show All: Participants box is uncomfortably small and it has redundant horisontal scroll http://www.screencast.com/t/ZjUxMzcyOWY - Too many scroll bars When Jon was showing web page I saw 3 scrolls for the window http://www.screencast.com/t/ZmZlYTgw Alexei -- My name is Alexei Barantsev. I have a passion for exploratory testing, testing in agile projects and continuous learning from different perspectives - after all, I’m a lifelong student of the software testing craft :-) Blog: http://testsidestory.wordpress.com, Twitter: @testsidestory Notice a substantial lag in sharedview Also, the mouse pounter with the name annotated is kind of annoying to me Tony -- Hi, My name is Tony Bruce, I've been testing for about 5 years, I started contracting about a year ago and I'm currently at Channel4 in the UK. I'm working on a redesign of the News website as it's currently pants. I blog at http://dancedwiththetester.blogspot.com/ and Tweet on tonybruce77 I organise the London Tester Gatherings, next one is 15th July if you happen to be in London: http://tinyurl.com/38ycyf4 Meeta Meeta ....tester from India ......have multiple hats depending on role requirement...twitter @ meetaprakash; bog: http://testingthetestable.blogspot.com/ I can see screens on both shareview as well as dimdim dim dim was easier to log on shared view - not very user friendly need to search for user options aire missed the chat part enter key does not send the message. you need to use the send key for it to register. you cant see the transcript as u type chat, the window is always collapsed tony's alt+tab & mouse froze inbetween ...post that after some time he cud see my screen but not take control screen share takes a long time to get enabled for the partner only online help is available more than 1 shared session cannot be active. As new one is started, forced log off from first with no warning went into an infinite search when ajay blocked me and i tried to login. when session was cancelled and i tried to relogin, the issue persisted and after 5 mins of search gave an error message that ajay was not online. aborted shared view. Not at all friendly. speed is also slow. any movement on screen takes away control undocking chat window also shows the actions transpired during shared interaction - good feature trying to test dim dim now was very easy to login more friendly user features status can be set but cannot be automated through a rule cud not use chat window for some reason screen got greyed out after a while and others thot i was out of the session a full screen option enabled my group chat window on dim dim Tony: IE8: DimDim: I joined Alexi's dimdim session while logged into my dimdim account on another tab in IE8. I was expecting to be logged in but I was prompted to enter in a display name. When you click Show All to display the list of participants I was expecting it to just display the list but it displays them in a pop up I left the meeting and browser backspaced back in, once I entered in a display name I was back in the session but the chat transcript was blank. ShareView: In IE8, even though I had ShareView installed I received a prompt that s/w needed to be installed when I tried to join a session. I also had to allow it through my Firewall. I was able to join the ShareView session although I had two ShareViews listed on the task bar. The view of Meeta's screen was dropping in and out and was very blocky. Session with Alan is much better, this maybe due to faster connection. I requested control of SharedView and was granted it but then lost control of my machine. My mouse cursor was at the top left of the screen and I couldn't move it or alt+tab or anything. Eventually I regained control but I'm not sure how. This will require further investigation and I should check with the other participants what was happening for them. Joining another ShareView session again requires s/w to be installed. This is with the browser still open from the last session. On joining the same session through another tab I noticed that the fields displaying who is sharing and who is controlling are blank. I also noticed that in the chat window it read 'Aire Kurgpõld has joined the session' even though I was the one joining the session I also joined the same session in another tab and was still needed to d/l software. I also did not receive any kind of message that I was already in that session. In the participants panel there is a Invite Others icon but only the session owner can invite others so why's the button available? In the Handouts panel on clicking respect copyrights it takes you straight to the US legal site rather then having you select a country. Blocked a user, still able to chat with them just fine. Not immediately obvious but the chat window is undockable which is a lot easier to use. FF: I installed on FF and refreshed the page but FF seems to require a restart. Incorrect, restarted and ShareView is still not working. Receive the same screen and when I click Join nothing happens. JB testing typing ======================================================== Charter: I am going to role play as the Product Owner for SharedView. It is a free-screensharing utility. It is the first time it is going to beta and this is a live test of its capabilities.
